Examination and Assessment
The teeth are examined with radiographs and cone-beam CT when indicated to assess infection and structural damage. In addition to the immediate tooth, treatment options, prognosis, and a broader care plan may be discussed according to the overall oral condition.
Treatment Process
Under magnification, infected tissue is removed and the canals are cleaned, shaped, disinfected, and filled to preserve the tooth when feasible. Cone-beam CT may be used when indicated to assess complex anatomy.

Completing Treatment
After root canal therapy, a final filling, onlay, or crown may be recommended to protect the remaining tooth structure and restore function and appearance. Periodic follow-up is recommended; longevity varies with tooth condition, bite, restoration, and maintenance.
